On Dec. 14, 2018, the United States Air Force ROTC held a commissioning ceremony at the University of Arkansas Union Theatre in Fayetteville for its newest lieutenants: Charles Elliott and Luke Deaton. Chancellor Joseph Steinmetz and Lt. Col. Marc Wolfe delivered comments honoring the new commissionees.

Charles Elliot, a graduate of the College of Engineering, acquired a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering and will transition into the role of acquisitions officer at his first duty station.

Luke Deaton acquired a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering with distinction from the College of Engineering and will serve as a combat systems officer at his first duty station.

The Air Force ROTC Detachment 030 Thunderhawgs are very proud of their newest lieutenants, who are beginning their new careers as officers in the United States Air Force.
