The Office of Student Activities is pleased to announce PJ Martinez as the assistant director for student government leadership. Martinez will serve as the primary adviser for Associated Student Government and, in collaboration with the Graduate School, will also support the Graduate and Professional Student Congress.

"I am so excited to have PJ join the Office of Student Activities team," said Mary Skinner, director of student activities. "He has already made a huge difference on the University of Arkansas campus and now will continue his service with ASG. I'm looking forward to seeing the future of ASG under PJ's leadership."

As assistant director, Martinez will be responsible for the development of student leaders in all branches of Associated Student Government and the Graduate and Professional Student Congress. He will manage comprehensive co-curricular programs for student government, including developing, implementing and assessing leadership programs that contribute to student learning.

Martinez has served most recently as the assistant director of retention and diversity initiatives in the University of Arkansas' Center for Multicultural and Diversity Education. He has been with the University of Arkansas for three years. Martinez earned his master's degree in educational leadership from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
