Protecting Your Intellectual Property

Faculty and graduate students are invited to learn how the university protects your intellectual property at a seminar on "The patent process: From disclosure to notice of allowance" from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Nov. 7.

Converting valuable research into patents is a great accomplishment for a faculty member. Join in and learn what the process looks like once your application reaches the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and how technology is license for commercial use.

The seminar will be led by David Hinton, associate director of Technology Ventures, a joint effort of the Office of Economic Development and the Office of Research and Innovation.

The Science Venture Primer Partnership will broaden the programming and resources available to faculty and graduate students to amplify the economic and social impacts of university research and innovation. The Science Venture Primer Partnership furthers the joint goals and efforts of Startup Junkie and the U of A offices of Economic Development, Industry Engagement and Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
