Donations to U of A United Way Campaign Top $30,000 in Two Weeks
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The 84th U of A United Way has reached the halfway point of its October campaign, with donations at one quarter of the campaign goal of raising $125,000.
As of Friday, Oct. 12, the donations totaled $31,253. Faculty and staff have two more weeks to turn in their donor cards or make a contribution through the campaign’s secure online site.
Volunteer campaign coordinators are collecting donor cards at all the units on campus through the week and turning them in for to be tallied each Friday morning.
The money raised by the U of A United Way campaign goes to support programs funded by the United Way of Northwest Arkansas – unless a donor makes a gift of more than $100 and designates that it go to another Northwest Arkansas agency.
The United Way of Northwest Arkansas programs all have the goal of helping the estimated 19,000 children who are living in poverty in our community. The programs focus first on building stability today for these children and their families, and then on helping them realize prosperity tomorrow – developing ways for them to work to create their own pathway out of poverty.
For each dollar donated, 98 cents goes to the 35 programs supported by the United Way of Northwest Arkansas.
