The University of Arkansas Rome Center makes Italy an ideal study abroad destination for U of A students.

Italy is a modern nation rich in history, art, architecture, culture and cuisine.

As the top study abroad destination for University of Arkansas students, Italy offers something for everyone.

A variety of program options and funding resources are available and most scholarships and financial aid that students already receive may be used toward study abroad.

The reasons to study in Italy are many, but here are five student favorites:

1. HOME IN ROME

The University of Arkansas' Rome Center campus is conveniently located in one of the oldest palaces in the center of Rome, Palazzo Taverna.

2. EXPERIENCE ANCIENT MARVELS

Italy is home to the most UNESCO world heritage sites in the world.

3. ONE WORD: PASTA

Rome is famous for pasta and has a museum dedicated to this delicious food.

4. WAS THAT THE POPE?

Rome is home to the smallest country in the world, Vatican City, governed by the Pope. If you're lucky, you might just catch a glimpse of him.

5. CITY OF BRIDGES

Venice has over 400 bridges that span more than 150 canals, dividing the city into hundreds of little islands.
