Transgender Activist to Speak at Reynolds Center for 30th Anniversary of National Coming Out Day

Ryan Sallans has captivated audiences at more than 60 universities in his widely popular and inspiring presentation, FTM: Scouting the Unknown.

Thursday, Oct. 11, marks the 30th anniversary of National Coming Out Day.

In honor of this day, Pat Walker Health Center's Counseling & Psychological Services department is pleased to host international transgender activist and author, Ryan Sallans, for a discussion on transitioning, LGBTQ inclusion, and campus inclusion.

Since 2005, Sallans has been sharing his personal story on college campuses, while also exploring ways to increase access to health care and inclusion for transgender communities.

During his captivating, two-hour presentation, Sallans will discuss his transition from female to male in his widely-popular and inspiring presentation, FTM: Scouting the Unknown.

  • 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11
  • Donald W. Reynolds Center Auditorium

Starting at 5 p.m., Sallans will host a meet-and-greet reception and book signing in the Reynolds Center Atrium. Free food and refreshments will be provided.

The event is free and open to all University of Arkansas students, faculty and staff, as well as members of the community.
