Few Spots Still Available for Health Center's Women's Self-Defense Class

Pat Walker Health Center's Wellness & Health Promotion department is offering an eight-week women's self-defense course. Although the course started Thursday, Sept. 27, a few spots still remain for any students, faculty or staff interested.

The class is held Thursday evenings from 5 to 6 p.m. in the health center, room 2132.

Participants can expect to learn a variety of basic self-defense moves that focus on defending the most common attacks such as wrist grabs, choke holds, hair pulls and more. Participants will also learn body mechanics and situational awareness.

Registration for the course is required. The cost of the program is $30 for students and $40 for faculty/staff. No prior experience required.

To register, see the front desk staff at Pat Walker Health Center — 525 N. Garland Avenue — or call 479-575-4451.
