Norton Appointed President of the Leadership Walton Student Executive Committee
Mia Norton, a senior accounting major, has been selected to serve as president of the Leadership Walton student executive committee for 2018-19.
Norton previously served as Leadership Walton's vice-president for community engagement and has also held leadership roles in Beta Alpha Psi, the accounting honor society.
"Leadership Walton has produced many well-rounded young professionals and will continue to do so," Norton said. "Having been a part of Leadership Walton since I came to the University of Arkansas, I have seen this organization grow and change in response to feedback from Walton's stakeholders. I am extremely excited for this opportunity to promote professionalism and leadership throughout our college."
J.R. Hinkson, associate director for undergraduate programs at the Sam M. Walton College of Business, chaired the selection committee to find Leadership Walton's next president. "Leadership Walton is our college's largest student organization," Hinkson said. "We knew that we had to find a student that represented the best of Walton's EPIC values — I'm happy to say we succeeded in that goal."
Renee Clay, director for career services and student programs in the Walton College, added that Mia is "an exceptionally qualified student with clear goals for the position of president and a plan for their execution."
