Fulbright College Launches New 'Fulbright REVIEW' Blog
Fulbright REVIEW is the new official blog of the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas.
The blog, formerly the college's semi-annual digital magazine, helps readers go behind the scenes and meet some of the students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends who make up the Fulbright Family.
"We hope it helps you stay connected to the college, and to all those who make up its heart and soul," said Todd Shields, dean of Fulbright College. "My personal hope is that you leave each visit to the blog feeling empowered and inspired."
New stories will be posted at fulbrightreview.uark.edu each week, and a monthly email round up will showcase some of the most interesting features so subscribers never miss having the inside scoop.
"At Fulbright College, you are unlikely to find a more supportive, talented, intelligent and distinctive group of people," Shields said. "And in these blog posts, you'll find stories about our people, including first-person accounts, Q&A features, in-depth articles and so much more."
Some of the article subjects include:
- Alumna Tiffany Taylor, a physics teacher and leader at Rogers Heritage High School, who just took home a top teaching award when she was named National Teacher of the Year by the Physics Teacher Education Coalition.
- Political Science Chair Pearl K. Dowe, a research super-star who wants to give voice to the voiceless, and help students succeed.
- Biochemistry pre-med major Scott Lirgg, a modern Renaissance man. This student Obstacle Course Races, is a Drum Major, a researcher and more.
- Recent alumna Katie Burkhart just graduated, but already landed her communications dream job after a lot of perseverance! See how.
The Fulbright REVIEW also includes select stories that have appeared in premiere University of Arkansas publications, such as Newswire and Research Frontiers.
"There are so many exciting things happening this fall and we cannot wait to share them with you," Shields said.
