The HPER Building on Stadium Drive

University Recreation offers a variety of programs and services for U of A students and members. All U of A students have access to UREC facilities because membership is covered through tuition.

Members have access to the HPER building which includes the Donna Axum Fitness Center, an Olympic sized swimming pool, racquetball courts, train and cycle studios, an indoor track, a climbing and bouldering wall, four gymnasiums, a rental center, and more. Additionally, UREC operates two auxiliary facilities that members can access, the UREC Fitness Center in the AR Union and UREC Sports Complex at Mitchell Street. To tour the main facility, come to UREC Full House on Tuesday, Aug. 21 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the HPER Building. It is a free event and drop-ins are welcome.

Group fitness classes begin Monday, Aug. 20 through Thursday, Dec. 6. There are currently over 80 class times scheduled throughout the week with various formats and class times. Registration is required for all group fitness classes and can be reserved up to 24 hours in advance. View the fall group fitness schedule.

University of Arkansas students, faculty, and staff are eligible to take Group Fitness classes at no cost. All other UREC membership types must purchase a Semester Group Fitness Pass for $40, which includes Group Fitness for both facilities.

UREC is also offering Small Group Training Classes from Monday, Sept.24 through Tuesday, Nov. 20 in the HPER. The class formats will be UREC RazorFitness which combine cardio and strength. Each week builds on the progress made in the previous session. Small Group Training classes are $30 for students and $40 for UREC members. These classes are more individualized than large group fitness classes, but still have a community feel with up to six participants per class. Personal training is also available as an individualized workout option.

Registration for fall intramural sports opens Monday, Aug. 20. The offerings include flag football, volleyball, and soccer as well as special event sports such as dodgeball and badminton. Eligible players must be enrolled in fall '18 classes. Visit Fusion IM to register.

Students interested in joining a club sport should drop by the Club Sports Informational Fair on Thursday, Aug. 23 at the Union International Connections Lounge from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. For information on tryouts, please visit the club sports webpage.

Registration is now open for UREC Outdoors' (UO) fall adventure trips. Go backpacking through the Grand Canyon or take an evening mountain bike trip to Kessler Mountain. UO has an equipment rental center that includes camping and boating gear, as well as bikes and stand up paddle boards. The climbing and bouldering wall are also open throughout the fall.

For injury prevention and treatment, the UREC Sports Injury Clinic is available to the U of A community and UREC members every Sunday through Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in HPER 320. For more information, e-mail urecatc@uark.edu.
