Deadline Monday to Run for ASG Senate Vacancy

Applications for students interested in filling vacant seats in the Associated Student Government Senate are now available on the Office of Student Activities' HogSync portal. Students should log in with a valid "uark.edu" email address.

Students interested in becoming a part of the Senate should visit the Senate webpage at asg.uark.edu/senate. The vacant seats in the Senate will be filled through the fall at-large election taking place the first week of September. Students do not run by college of enrollment; instead, all students vote for all candidates that appear on one ballot. Applications are open to U of A undergraduate students who meet co-curricular requirements. Senate Vacancy Applications are due by noon, Monday, Sept. 27, on HogSync. In addition, students interested must complete an online candidate orientation quiz by the application deadline or attend the candidate orientation session in person at 6 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 23, in the Union Theater (ARKU 424). More information can be found at asg.uark.edu/get-involved-join-us/elections.

Voting in the 2018 ASG Fall Vacancy Election will begin at 9 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 4,  and conclude at 4 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 6. Candidates will be required to turn in an expenditure report at the conclusion of their campaign. More information on the expenditure report will be available through the candidate orientation materials. This election will also feature a student referendum vote on a revised ASG Constitution that was passed by the ASG Senate in April 2018.

Any questions about Senate duties should be sent to Chair of Senate Colman Betler at asgsen@uark.edu. Questions about the election and process should be sent to Chief Justice Julianna Tidwell at asgjcj@uark.edu.
