Razorback Transit Summer Service for Parking Lots

University of Arkansas employees and students who have to park in different lots as a result of summer construction projects may choose to utilize Razorback Transit bus routes to get them closer to work or to class.

Most of the parking changes for the summer involve lots being closed in the north part of campus, and the changes will require motorists— in some cases — to park farther away than they normally would.

For anyone who does not want to walk, regular bus routes are scheduled to come by the parking areas.

Razorback Transit General Manager Adam Waddell said that plans are worked out to get everyone where they need to be.

"It may take a little more time in the beginning," he said, "but everyone will have access to parking and to bus transportation. We always recommend that people arrive early in case something disrupts traffic flow or bus schedules. We recommend that you catch an early ride, and not count on the last possible bus that comes by before you have to be where you are going."

This summer, if you park in lots in the northwest part of the campus (37, 40, 40A, 41, 42, 50, and 75) you may catch the green reduced route Razorback Transit bus. The route starts at 7:05 a.m. each day and will make stops every half hour.

There are four bus stops that will serve this part of campus: one on North Razorback, two on Cleveland, and one on Garland (see map).

The lots in the northeast part of campus (34, 39, 31 North, 35 North, 78, and 78A) will be utilized this summer by individuals who likely can walk to where they need to be in that area.

For those who need to go further into the heart of campus, there are nearby routes available on the purple route Razorback Transit bus (see map). It also starts each day at 7:05 a.m. and makes stops every half hour.

Orange remote parking permit holders will park in Lot 56 during the summer, and may choose to ride the purple or green reduced routes in to the main part of campus.

Bus routes in the summer are all reduced routes (running every 30 minutes instead of every 20, and for a shorter period of time each day).

The only route in the summer that is not reduced is the red route, which will run every 20 minutes on Monday through Friday. On Saturdays, the red route will run every hour.

Bus route hours of service this summer will be from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.
