Do you know a 1st through 11th grade student who would love STEM enrichment opportunity this summer? The College of Engineering offers several summer camps for rising 2nd through 12th graders. These camps offer hands-on learning experiences and give kids a chance to explore different topics in engineering. For more information, visit engineering-camps.uark.edu.

Discover Engineering Camp

Current 5th and 6th grade students are invited to dream, design and discover at this weeklong camp. Students will explore the many exciting areas of engineering with fun, hands-on activities. This year's theme is "Food from Farm to Table." This camp is offered in Fayetteville, June 4-8.

Explore Engineering Camp

Current 7th and 8th graders are invited to dive deeper into the different fields of engineering in this weeklong camp. This year's theme is "Mission to Mars." Students will identify some issues involved in settling another planet and design, build, and test their ideas for overcoming these challenges. This camp is offered in Fayetteville, June 4-8. 

Inside Engineering Camp

Engineer like a professional at our Inside Engineering camps offered to students who have just completed 5th through 8th grades. During this camp, students will have the opportunity to apply engineering concepts from multiple fields to a real-world problem. This year's theme is "Engineering Entertainment: Amusement Park Challenge." Participants will learn about the many, many ways engineers contribute to creating fun and safe experiences! These camps are offered in Batesville (June 18-22), Bentonville (June 11-15), Blytheville (June 11-15), Camden (June 25-29), and Hot Springs (July 9-13).

GirlTREC Camp

Current 5th and 6th grade girls are invited to spend a week on the University of Arkansas campus participating in hands-on activities related to transportation — from roads to railroads to waterways in a camp funded by a US Department of Transportation grant. In addition to engineering activities, students will participate in field trips and will have the opportunity to meet with women in engineering. This camp is offered in Fayetteville, July 9-13.

Soaring High in Engineering (SHE Camp)

Current 7th and 8th girls are invited to participate in hands-on engaging activities designed to allow them to explore the many fields of engineering while also working toward solutions for real world problems. In addition to engineering activities, students will participate in field trips and will have the opportunity to meet with women in engineering. These camps are offered in Blytheville (June 11-15), Fayetteville (July 16-20), and Hot Springs (July 9-13).

FIRST LEGO League Jr. Camps

Current 1st through 3rd grade students are invited to participate in the weeklong FIRST LEGO League Jr. program from design to competition. This camp is offered July 9-13 and July 16-20. Students can choose from a morning session (8-11:30 a.m.) or an afternoon session (1:30-5 p.m.). These camps are held at the Don Tyson School of Innovation in Springdale. Please note: The FIRST LEGO League Jr. camp activities require that students are able to read and understand written instructions and conduct basic online research. Please keep your child's reading level in mind when deciding to apply.

Robotics Engineering Camps

Current 4th through 7th grade students are invited to spend the week designing, building, programming and testing LEGO® Mindstorms® robots. This weeklong camp is designed for students with little to no experience with Mindstorms® robots or those who desire to improve their skills. The camp is offered June 25-29 and students can choose from a morning session (8-11:30 a.m.) or an afternoon session (1:30-5 p.m.). These camps are held at the Don Tyson School of Innovation in Springdale. Please note: This camp highlights concepts from computer science and electrical engineering. Building the LEGO MINDSTORMS is only a small part of camp activities.  

Engineering Summer Academy

Current 9th through 11th grade students are invited to participate in this residential camp that allows students to explore their interests in an Interdisciplinary Track with College of Engineering faculty and students on the University of Arkansas—Fayetteville campus. Students will select one of the following courses: 1) Living Systems, 2) Structure and Function 3) Modeling and Simulation, or 4) Design of Non-Living Systems. The Engineering Summer Academy will be held July 22-28.

Arkansas AIMS Prep Boot Camp

Want to get a head start on your AP classes? Are you a current Northwest Arkansas high school student currently in 9th-11th grade? Do you plan on taking AP English Literature, AP English Language, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, or AP Calculus? If the answer to these questions is YES, enroll in this weeklong, full-day camp held on the University of Arkansas campus from June 25-29.
