Holcombe Global Series Features Food and Traditions of Moldova

Discover Moldova during this month's Holcombe Global Series.

The presentation starts at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Holcombe Hall's living room.

Daniela Lungu, an international student from Moldova, will present on her culture, focusing on the country's history, traditions and food. The evening includes a short presentation with interactive cultural games and dancing.

She will give out tricolor bracelets representing the Moldovan flag.

"It's a small symbol which Moldovans like to offer to people at different events," Lungu said.

Moldova is a landlocked country in Eastern Europe of about 3 million people. It is bordered by Romania to the west and Ukraine to the north, east and south.

"Less-known countries have a lot to tell about their culture and traditions and Moldova is no exception," Lungu said. "It has a beautiful and unique story that includes a lot of interesting things that will amaze you."

Come and discover Moldova!

This event is open to all within the university community. Attendees are encouraged to bring friends and engage with the presenters after the presentation.

Prior countries featured in the Global Series this academic year include India, Japan, Australia, Denmark, Tunisia, Mexico, Russia and Jordan.
