Join Us Live on Facebook as University Officially Welcomes New Students Sunday Evening
The University of Arkansas will officially welcome incoming students to campus during the New Student Welcome on Sunday, Aug. 20, on the Mall between the Arkansas Union and Mullins Library.
This year the New Student Welcome will be broadcast live from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on the Division of Student Affairs Facebook page. Please join us for this special live broadcast.
"The New Student Welcome is always an exciting event for our incoming students," said Quincy Spencer, director of New Student and Family Programs. "And by broadcasting it live on Facebook we give students' family members a chance to be there in a virtual way, and experience it with their students."
The traditional welcome includes remarks from Chancellor Joe Steinmetz and Associated Student Government President Andrew Counce, as well as performances by the Razorback Spirit Squads and the Razorback Marching Band. Chartwells is sponsoring the Welcome Back Cook-Out portion of the event.
This welcome is just part of the many activities the staff and faculty have planned. Students, and others interested, should visit welcomeweeks.uark.edu for a full list of activities and events taking place during Hog W.I.L.D. Welcome Weeks. The website also includes directions for downloading the Welcome Weeks mobile app by Guidebook.
