UA Alumna Amber Widdowson is the new Assistant Director for Registered Student Organizations

The Office of Student Activities is pleased to announce Amber Widdowson as its new assistant director for registered student organizations. As part of this new position, Widdowson will oversee RSO registration for more than 430 RSOs on campus as well as advise Associated Student Government Office of Financial Affairs in its RSO funding allocations processes. She will also advise SOOIE, the Student Organization Outreach and Involvement Experience RSO.

Widdowson is a product of the Office of Student Activities. She was involved with University Programs as a member, Coffeehouse Committee chair, and vice president while an undergraduate student from 2006-2009. After working in Human Resources positions at various retail organizations for six years, Widdowson returned to the Office of Student Activities as a graduate assistant for RSOs in 2015. She was named program coordinator for RSOs in January 2017 and received her Master of Education in higher education in May 2017.

"It is very exciting to have Amber join the Office of Student Activities in this new role," said Mary Skinner, director of student activities. "She has already made such an amazing impact on the students and staff with her past leadership as a graduate assistant and program coordinator. It will be wonderful to see how far she takes the registered student organizations."

Registered student organizations provide students the opportunity to form and develop organizations based on a common interest. Students are able to create, govern, budget and plan their own organization and events. A list of current RSOs is available on HogSync. For more information about RSOs or to learn how to form an RSO, contact the Office of Student Activities.
