Fayetteville, Ark. – The University of Arkansas Student Gallery, sUgAR, will host an opening reception for the exhibition, Students of Tim LaTourette from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, in sUgAR Gallery, located at 1 East Center on the Downtown Fayetteville Square. This exhibition will be on display through Feb. 26 with open gallery hours on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m, to 2 p.m.

Tim LaTourette's legacy is extensive and profound. One only has to look to the University of Arkansas community to see his tremendous impact on both alumni and current students. While a faculty member may often make a substantial contribution to their department or college, it is rare for an educator to make an impact throughout campus. This is something that LaTourete achieved with confidence and ease, which is a testament to his amicable disposition and immense knowledge.

Focusing on LaTourette's teaching and dedication to craft, this exhibition highlights various ways in which he was able to shape the lives and careers of many students. The exhibiting artists are all former students of LaTourette and include: Adam Crosson & Robert Lemming, Erin Gardner, Matthew Meers, Aaron Miley, Michael Ramirez, and Jeanne Vockroth.

The sUgAR Gallery is an interdepartmental exhibition space featuring the visual research of students, faculty, and visiting lecturers from the Department of Art and Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design representing the Departments of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Interior Design. sUgAR is made possible by the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, the Department of Art, the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design, and the University of Arkansas' Facilities Management.
