Students, Enter the #AutumnAtArkansas Photo Contest on Instagram or Twitter

Join the Division of Student Affairs in celebrating the beauty of the changing seasons at the University of Arkansas during the #AutumnAtArkansas student photo contest.

There are 425 acres filled with 2,453 trees from 79 different species all turning different colors and scattering their leaves about across campus. This is #AutumnAtArkansas.

The contest will run from Nov. 11-23. All photo entries can be posted on Instagram or Twitter with the tag #AutumnAtArkansas. Photos must have the hashtag to qualify. The original photo file must also be saved for future promotional material for the Division.

The winner will receive a $50 gift card to the University of Arkansas Bookstore, which can be used at any location operated by the bookstore. The winning photo will also be featured on the Division of Student Affairs website.

Students submitted more than 100 photos last year, capturing Old Main and maple trees, the sun lighting up the fall skyline and Senior Walk embellished with red, yellow and orange leaves.

"We have such a beautiful campus year round but in the fall it is breathtaking," said Scott Flanagin, executive director of communications for Student Affairs. "This contest is a great way for students to explore, capture, and appreciate the beauty of our university landscape."

Students may submit up to three photos for the contest by posting their photos to Instagram or Twitter and using the hashtag #AutumnAtArkansas.

"Take lots of photos," said Shanita Gibson, graduate assistant for social media for Student Affairs. "There are many wonderful places on campus to admire the fall beauty, but students should only submit their best shots. I'm excited to see what students capture this year."

All photo rights of submitted images remain with the owner, but the university does retain all rights of use for the photos submitted as well. Entries will be judged by university staff members who specialize in photography.
