U of A Graduate Receives Fulbright Scholar Award to Study in Ghana
Marquita Smith, a University of Arkansas graduate of the higher education program, is spending this school year in Ghana after receiving a 2016-2017 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Grant from the U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.
Smith is department head and associate professor of communication at John Brown University in Siloam Springs. She earned her doctorate from the U of A in 2014.
She is teaching and conducting research at the University of Ghana, Legon. Her project is titled "Courageous Communication: Creating Journalism that Matters."
