Honors College to Host Watch Party for Final Presidential Debate
It has been an election year like no other, and 18 honors students and a host of faculty experts have been following every twist and turn in the first Honors College Forum, "Tracking Trump and Hillary." Join them at 7:30 p.m. next Wednesday, Oct. 19 to watch the third and final face-off between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in the Honors Student Lounge in Gearhart Hall (GEAR 130).
"This is the last chance for both candidates to make their case in front of millions of viewers throughout the United States," said Noah Pittman, assistant dean of the Honors College who has led "Tracking Trump and Hillary. "Given the tenor of the campaign so far, literally anything could happen."
Fulbright College Dean Todd Shields, whose research focuses on polling, will introduce the debate, and faculty experts on Populism, the media, the Middle East, gender and other relevant topics have also been invited to attend. All on campus and in the community are welcome to join the watch party and discussion; light refreshments will be served.
The Honors College also plans to host an Election Night Watch Party from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, in the Honors Student Lounge.
