Schmidtke Elected to Top Journal's Editorial Board
University of Arkansas professor Carsten Schmidtke has been elected editorial board chair of the journal Career and Technical Education Research, the leading U.S. journal in the field.
Schmidtke is an assistant professor who teaches in the human resource and workforce development education program in the College of Education and Health Professions.
He was elected to a one-year term and may seek re-election for an additional year. His duties include serving as an ex officio member of the Executive Committee of the Association for Career and Technical Education Research, reporting to the committee the recommendations and decisions of the editorial board.
Schmidtke will coordinate activities of the editorial board and conduct the board's annual meeting as well as communicating with members at other times.
The Association for Career and Technical Education Research, organized in 1966, is a professional association for scholars and others with research interests in the relationship between education and work. It addresses global interests of workforce education research, issues and policy.
Schmidtke joined the faculty of the College of Education and Health Professions in 2008. He conducts research into 21st century workplace skills.
