McComas Discusses Science Education with Bhutanese Officials

William McComas, Parks Family Professor of Science Education at the University of Arkansas, met recently with Bhutanese education officials to discuss curriculum and possible collaboration.

McComas met May 30 with Surjay Lepcha, the chief science curriculum developer of the Royal Education Council of Bhutan, and several of his colleagues at their offices in Paro, Bhutan. Discussions covered the new Bhutanese science curriculum and the prospect of joint research projects.

McComas also explored the possibility of a Bhutanese student enrolling in the science education program at the U of A. Bhutan lies in the eastern Himalayas and borders China and India.
