Ana Bridges, associate professor in the Department of Psychological Science, was awarded the 2016 American Psychological Association of Graduate Students Kenneth and Mamie Clark Award. This prestigious award honors psychologists who have made outstanding contributions to the professional development of ethnic minority graduate students.

Since it's inception, there have only been 17 recipients prior to Bridges. She will be honored with a plaque and will be featured in a future the association's gradPsych magazine.

Bridges was nominated for this award by two clinical psychology graduate students, Juventino Hernandez Rodriguez and Bianca Villalobos, who said they nominated her because she "is a role-model for ethnic minority students like us. She goes above and beyond in her efforts to support us academically and personally. We are so grateful to have her as a mentor and we are so happy that she has received an award that recognizes her invaluable mentorship."
