CSES Graduate Student Club Raises Funds, Announces Down & Dirty 5K Winners

The Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences Graduate Student Club (members above) recently held the Sixth Annual Down & Dirty 5K as a fundraiser for the club and the Jane B. Gearhart Full Circle Food Pantry.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Graduate Student Club in the U of A's Department of Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences recently held its Sixth Annual Down & Dirty 5K as a fundraiser for the club and the Jane B. Gearhart Full Circle Food Pantry on campus.

The event on March 12 drew 70 racers and raised more than $1,200 with $1,000 going to the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Science's CSES Graduate Student Club and $220 to the food pantry.

In the men's division, Robert King won the 5K in a time of 20:43 while Taylor Adams on the mile in 6:22. In the women's division, Jinny Lowe won both the 5K (22:26) and the mile (6:13).

Sponsors for the event included Apple Blossom Brewing Co., Farmer's Table Café, lululemon athletica Fayetteville, Ozark Brewing Co. and Trailside Yoga.
