Depression Screenings Offered
Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS), part of the Pat Walker Health Center, is hosting the annual National Depression Screening Day by providing free screenings for depression and other mood disorders in the Arkansas Union Connections Lounge and the entryway of Mullins Library on the Union Mall side between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7.
National Depression Screening Day raises awareness, screens students for depression, and allows individuals to identify warning signs and connect with treatment resources. Similar to many physical illnesses, early recognition and treatment offers the best opportunity for recovery from mental illness. CAPS' goals for this event are to raise awareness for mental health disorders and connect students who may be struggling with depression or other mood disorders with quality treatment options.
Students can pick up one of CAPS #take5uark mood rings at this event after participating in the screening. Collect and keep five mood rings at various CAPS events this year, and you qualify for a drawing for $100 in Razorbucks!
