Sugar Gallery and Backspace are teaming up together to bring the Arts community of Fayetteville a collaborative art/music extravaganza at Backspace for one night only on Halloween night! The art portion of the evening will be submission based. Anyone can apply! The theme is "The Grotesque" and any medium or size is welcome, although keep in mind that there will be music and (hopefully) dancing in the same area as the work.

To apply, please send an email to Samantha Sigmon at k.samantha.sigmon@gmail.com and Danny RW Baskin at drbaskin@uark.edu including: an .jpg image of the work or works (up to 3 pieces per artist), title, date, medium, and all dimensions.

Deadline for submissions is on Sunday, Oct. 11. There is no fee to apply.

Artists will be notified by Oct. 18.

Sugar Gallery is an interdepartmental exhibition space featuring the visual research of students, faculty, and visiting lecturers from the Department of Art and Fay Jones School of Architecture representing the Departments of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Interior Design. Sugar is made possible by the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, the Department of Art, the Fay Jones School of Architecture, and the University of Arkansas Facilities Management.

Backspace is created to support community arts programming through events such as music and art shows, readings, performances, and more. The space was started to give Northwest Arkansas creatives a place to have a voice and a vision, and focuses on participatory and one-of-a-kind experiences. It is a loose collective of passionate creatives, giving them a place to experiment.
