News media around the nation and world reported the following stories about the University of Arkansas during the past week.
National and International
- National Geographic News included quotes from anthropology professor Lucas Delezene regarding his work on verifying a new hominid species discovered in South Africa.
- Fast Company interviewed psychology professor Jeffrey Lohr about stress in the workplace and how anxiousness of one person can have detrimental effects on other workers.
- (e)Science News picked up the news story about a nearly $1 million grant from the National Science Foundation to the U of A to lead an interdisciplinary team of educators who will train and certify Arkansas school teachers in computer science education.
- Space Coast Daily reported on a grant from NASA to prepare an experiment for a miniaturized satellite mission as part of NASA's Small Innovative Missions for Planetary Exploration program. Professor Larry Roe is also a co-investigator in the project.
- The Wall Street Journal interviewed coach Brett Bielema about a virtual-reality headset that recruits can use to experience in-game situations that Arkansas players are facing. Arkansas is one of seven college teams working with Strivr, a California-based company that created the system.
- Outside magazine and Men's Fitness interviewed professor Stavros Kavouras for separate stories about how people can stay properly hydrated during the late summer workouts.
