sUgAR, the University of Arkansas student-run art gallery, is pleased to present Welcoming the New; A Showcase of New Fine Art Faculty Work, a group exhibition made up of the works by new faculty members in the Department of Art for the 2015-16 school year. The gallery, located at 1 East Center on the downtown Fayetteville square, will be open to the public on Thursday, Sept. 3, with an opening reception from 6-8 p.m.

As the student population once again swells in our small mountain town and the university buzzes with excitement at the beginning of a new school year, the staff at sUgAR Gallery are pleased to welcome new faculty members in the Fine Arts Department to share some of their work with the wonderful Arts community of Fayetteville. Exhibiting artists in Welcoming the New include David Andree, Rebecca Drolen, Alex Hanson, Kasey Ramirez, and Lauren Scanlon.

The gallery is an interdepartmental exhibition space featuring the visual research of students, faculty, and visiting lecturers from the Department of Art and Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design, representing the Departments of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Interior Design. sUgAR is made possible by the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, the Department of Art, the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design, and the University of Arkansas Facilities Management. sUgAR's new wood laminate floor is generously supported in part by Meeks Lumber of Fayetteville.
