University of Arkansas Panhellenic Council Wins National Achievement Award

The Panhellenic Council at the University of Arkansas was selected as a recipient of the National Panhellenic Conference College Panhellenic Achievement Award this summer.

"It's such an honor to be receiving this award. Our 10 chapters and amazing executive board work tirelessly throughout the year to better our community, and to have that work recognized is such a privilege" said Alexandra Chunn, Panhellenic president.

This award recognizes the success of the University of Arkansas Panhellenic in upholding the values and ideals of a Panhellenic through the areas of recruitment, Panhellenic structure, communication with the NPC area adviser, judicial procedures, Panhellenic programming, academics and Panhellenic community impact and relations.

"It is such an honor to be part of a Greek community that strives to succeed at such a high level, but an even greater privilege to continue that progress as a member of the Panhellenic Executive Board," said Katie Voss, vice president of administration for Panhellenic. "This award recognizes not only the efforts of our Council but the entire Panhellenic community. I am so proud to be a member of Arkansas Greek Life and am excited for all our achievements to come."

"Our Greek Life community was elated to learn that we received the Panhellenic Achievement Award. It is wonderful to see our Greek councils and chapters be recognized for their commitment as they compete on the national level among peers in the areas of leadership, service, council management, and programming initiatives," said Parice Bowser, director of Greek Life. "This is another example of Greek Life's commitment in helping the UA become a Top 50 institution."

National Panhellenic Conference, one of the largest organizations advocating for women, is the umbrella group for 26 national and international sororities. NPC sororities are located at more than 660 campuses with 325,772 undergraduate members in 3,127 chapters. Alumnae are represented in 3,883 associations throughout the world.
