BENTONVILLE, Ark. - Vanessa Norton McKuin will present a lecture, titled "This Place Matters: Preserving Arkansas' Architectural and Cultural Heritage," at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, 600 Museum Way, in Bentonville. This talk is part of the museum's architecture speaker series.

McKuin is executive director of Preserve Arkansas: the Historic Preservation Alliance of Arkansas, based in North Little Rock. Before the lecture, attendees are invited to join Preserve Arkansas for "Preservation Libations at Culture Hour" at Eleven, the restaurant at Crystal Bridges. A cash bar and special bar menu will be available.

Preserve Arkansas is the only statewide organization dedicated to building stronger communities by reconnecting Arkansans to their heritage and empowering people to save and rehabilitate historic places. Founded in 1981, Preserve Arkansas has been a voice for historic places for nearly 35 years.
