Students Can Avoid Additional Proctoring Fees By Scheduling Exam Sessions Well in Advance

Beginning Monday, Aug. 3, the Global Campus will no longer pay the extra fees charged by ProctorU when students wait until the last minute to schedule online proctoring sessions to take exams. Students will pay the additional fees charged by ProctorU when sessions are scheduled within 72 hours of an exam.

The Global Campus will continue to pay proctoring fees for the exam sessions, but the additional service fees charged by ProctorU for last-minute scheduling will be paid by the students.

Students may avoid these fees simply by scheduling their proctoring sessions more than 72 hours in advance of taking exams.

A student who schedules an exam within 72 hours of taking an exam will pay the additional charge of $5 for that session. A student who schedules an exam within 24 hours will pay the additional charge of $8.75. Students can pay these fees directly to ProctorU through its website when scheduling a proctoring session.

Approved by the Board of Trustees in May, this change is intended to encourage students to schedule their online proctoring sessions well ahead of time, which will help improve ProctorU's ability to deliver quality service to students and faculty. It also will conserve U of A resources to better serve students in other ways and bring the U of A in line with fee policies set by the vast majority of other institutions using ProctorU.
