Parking Lots in Campus Core Will Require Permits Until 8 p.m. Next Fall
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Drivers on campus will need to have University of Arkansas parking permits if they want to park in any of the central campus parking lots between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The new requirement goes into effect on Monday, Aug. 24, the first day of the fall semester.
This downloadable map shows which lots are affected by the change.
A total of 33 lots will continue to require designated Reserved, Faculty/Staff, or Student permits from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Between 5 and 8 p.m. on weekdays any current U of A parking permit can be used in these lots. These lots are shown on the map with a black round background and white numbers.
An additional five lots are more restricted. Drivers must have Reserve permits assigned to these lots to park in them between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m weekdays. Only drivers with either Reserved or Faculty/Staff permits may park in these lots from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday-Friday. These lots are shown on the map with a star around the lot number.
Some of these parking lots are also equipped with gray parking meters. These will have to be paid from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Gold-colored parking meters everywhere on campus require payment 24 hours a day.
The permit changes also affect the Stadium Drive Garage and Garland Avenue Garage.
A Stadium Drive Garage permit will be required in that facility from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., but any current U of A parking permit can be used between 5 and 8 p.m. in the permit spaces. Drivers without a permit must use the metered spaces and pay the meter fee between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.
In the Garland Avenue Parking Garage, garage permits are required at all times on levels B2, 2, 3 and 4. A garage permit is required for level B1 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., but any U of A permit can be used on level B1 from 5 to 8 p.m. Meter payment will be required on level 1 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The changes do not affect Resident Reserved parking lots, which will still require a current Resident Reserved permit at all times.
The new requirements do not apply to other parking lots outside the central campus core, or to the Harmon Avenue Garage.
