Online Registration Open for ASD Symposium April 30, May 1
Online registration is available for the annual Autism Spectrum Disorders Symposium sponsored by the University of Arkansas.
The symposium is appropriate for families, early child-care providers, special education teachers, general education teachers, behavior analysts, speech therapists and anyone else interested in teaching children with autism. It takes place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 30 and May 1 at the Global Campus on the Fayetteville square.
Participants may also register on site the first day of the conference. There is a discounted price for families and students, and professional development credit is available.
The symposium will focus this year on understanding high-functioning autism and teaching social skills to children with autism spectrum disorders. Scott Bellini, director of the Social Skills Research Clinic at Indiana University, Bloomington, and Teresa Daly, executive director of the University of Central Florida Center for Autism and Related Disabilities, are the featured presenters.
The symposium is sponsored by the special education program in the College of Education and Health Professions and Project Connect.
