Rollout of New DNS Servers to Be Completed on March 22

IT Services will complete the new DNS server rollout campuswide from 10 to 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 22. During this third and final phase, the Network Engineering Team will migrate remaining campus buildings to the new DNS servers.

Following the rollout, most students, faculty and staff will notice no change to the way they connect their devices to the campus network.

By July 1, advanced users who do not use DHCP to get IP addresses will be required to manually change their primary and secondary DNS servers. The preferred campus DNS servers are available at techarticles.uark.edu/network/dns_servers.

The new campus DNS servers provide the campus network with high performance hardware, increase redundancy, protect against potential outages and improve network security.
