Holi is a festival of colors in Indian tradition, celebrated to mark the beginning of spring. The Hindu Students Association invites all University of Arkansas students to come celebrate this festival from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at Wilson Park, 675 N. Park Ave. in Fayetteville. The event will be filled with natural colors and flavorful Indian food (breakfast and lunch). There will be a DJ playing Bollywood music.

Tickets are free for all University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, students. Students can pick up their free tickets outside the Arkansas Union Food Court from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, March 30, and Tuesday, March 31.

Holi is the day when people of many different ethnicities and cultural backgrounds come together and spread color on each other, symbolizing cross-cultural dialogue. Holi also has religious significance according to Hindu tradition, and has been celebrated for thousands of years in India and in other parts of the world.

This event is supported by the Student Activities Fee as a funded event by the Associated Student Government and is free to all currently-enrolled University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, students who pay the student activities fee.
