FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- The University of Arkansas is ranked among the top schools for veterans in the nation  for the second year in a row, according to the Guide to Military Friendly Schools. The U of A is one of seven military friendly schools to offer discounts and scholarships to military veterans and their families, making school more affordable. The university also participates in the Yellow Ribbon program, which also helps reduce the financial strain for current and former service members. The publication also names the  U of A as one of only a dozen schoolstot offer clubs or groups on campus for veterans.

The university offers a variety of services through the Veterans Resource and Information Center, such as a full-time VA counselor on staff, and ACE credit for military experience, and the Student Veterans of America Chapter on campus.

The University of Arkansas has a long-standing tradition of supporting U.S. troops and their families and will continue to add resources as the population of students who are veterans grows
