FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.— University Programs hosts Ballet Magnificat! at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, in the Verizon Ballroom of the Arkansas Union.

This event is sponsored by University Programs through the Office of Student Activities and is supported by the Student Activities fee. For special accommodations due to disability, please contact the Office of Student Activities, osa@uark.edu or call 479-575-5255.

Founded in 1986, Ballet Magnificat’s professional touring companies have performed nationally and internationally to audiences in the United States as well as Czech Republic, Canada, Belize, Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Singapore, Germany, Netherlands, Slovakia, Poland, Belgium, Greece, France, Italy, Macedonia, Kosovo, Israel, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Cayman Islands, Switzerland, Korea, Philippines, and China.

The year is 1940, and as World War II unfolds, Nazi soldiers dominate the streets of Dutch Haarlem. “Hiding Place” is inspired by the true story of Corrie and Betsie ten Boom, Christian sisters who boldly challenge the evil that is so prevalent in their world. As Corrie and Betsie witness the horrors surrounding them each day, they determine to offer protection for those in danger by constructing a small hiding place in their home. Don’t miss this exquisite and poetic performance of dancers from the Ballet Magnificat!
