Oficina Latina to Host Financial Literacy Program for Latino Parents in Northwest Arkansas
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Office of Latino Academic Advancement and Community Relations – Oficina Latina – at the University of Arkansas will host its first financial literacy seminar, aimed at Latino families in Northwest Arkansas. The program will be presented in Spanish and is free and open to as many as 150 Latino parents.
The goal is to provide basic financial skills to Latino parents, so they can better understand their finances and the financial system in the United States, which can be critical to their success and their families’ well-being.
The seminar will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13 in the Reynolds Center Auditorium at the U of A. It will include presentations on understanding personal finances, the importance of credit and credit scores, understanding loans, and the whys and how of using banking services.
