FAYETTEVILLE -- The department of University Recreation is offering two American Red Cross First Aid, Adult CPR and AED certification opportunities during the Fall 2014 semester. Course dates are either 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28, or 1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 28.

In addition to choking rescue and CPR techniques, students will learn how to treat cuts, bruises, bone and muscle injuries, shock, bleeding and other first aid emergencies. Students will also learn how to operate an automated external defibrillator (AED). This course meets OSHA’s Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs. Upon successful completion, students receive American Red Cross certificates for Adult CPR, Adult First Aid, and AED (valid for two years).
