The University of Arkansas Food Recovery Project will be featured in Tossed Out: Food Waste in America, which premieres Friday, Sept. 26. The Food Recovery Project is housed in the School of Law’s Graduate Program in Agricultural and Food Law and is supported by grants from the Women’s Giving Circle.

Tossed Out is a 30-minute documentary that is part of a larger set of written and radio stories produced by Harvest Public Media that examine the various dimensions of food waste. The documentary, which is the cornerstone of this series, features a segment on Fayetteville, depicting the city as a hub for food recovery innovation. It profiles the food rescue work of the University of Arkansas student group Razorback Food Recovery, highlights the Food Recovery Project, makes a visit to the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market and shows examples of food recovery in the community, with footage of Harps' and Feed Communities' fresh produce recovery partnership.
