FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas law professor Stephen Clowney will speak Saturday, Sept. 20 as part of a two day colloquium at Savannah Law School in Savannah, Georgia. The colloquium, [Re]Integrating Spaces, is part of the Law School’s  celebration of the comprehensive restoration of the historic Candler Hospital, preserving, transforming and revitalizing it, at the same time changing the meaning of the space.

The colloquium will explore the parallel themes of historic preservation and transformation, as well as societal sense of place, space, and meaning within the law.

Stephen Clowney joined the U of A School of Law faculty as an associate professor in 2014. He teaches Property, Land Use, Trusts and Estates, and a seminar on Race and the Law.

He previously held the Frost Brown and Todd endowed professorship at the University of Kentucky. 

Clowney received his A.B. cum laude from Princeton University in 2000 and his J.D. from Yale University in 2006, where he was an editor of the Yale Law Journal.
