Advisers and Faculty Team Up To Showcase Fulbright Departments in Sophomore Success Series

The Fulbright College Advising Center will present a series of informational sessions designed to showcase six Fulbright departments: Psychology, English, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Communication, and Political Science. The series is intended to help undeclared sophomore students explore options in Fulbright. Current sophomores in these majors are also encouraged to attend.

During each session, advisers and faculty will discuss the following information: advising and curriculum, departmental opportunities, and career and graduate school exploration. Faculty members will be on hand to answer questions regarding research, internships and faculty mentorship with current or prospective sophomores.

“This is a great chance for students considering any of these fields to come and meet their advisor, get to know a faculty member, and begin thinking about post-graduation opportunities,” said Meagon Clarkson-Guyll, a psychology adviser with the Fulbright College Advising Center. “This is also an opportunity for students already declared in a major to further explore ways in which they can become more connected with their departments and maximize their undergraduate experience.”

The series will consist of six sessions:

  • Psychology – Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 2 to 3 p.m. in SCEN 402.
  • English – Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 2 to 3 p.m. in KIMP 306.
  • Criminal Justice and Sociology – Thursday, Sept. 25, from 2 to 3 p.m. in SCEN 402.
  • Communication and Political Science – Tuesday, Sept. 30, from 2 to 3 p.m. in SCEN 402.
