IT Services Investigating Cause of Network Outages
IT Services is investigating the cause of recent campus network instability that caused users to experience a number of short Internet outages starting Wednesday, Sept. 3.
The Network Engineering Team is working with an on-site engineer from the networking equipment vendor to perform troubleshooting and ascertain the root cause of the network problem. The effort to resolve the underlying problem is still underway, and intermittent outages are possible.
The recent networking problem occurs at the end of a summer of extensive changes to the campus network designed to expand services, create redundancy, reduce downtime and increase Internet speed. As the University of Arkansas continues to see dramatic growth in enrollment, IT Services is responding by enhancing and expanding technology resources and infrastructure.
