UAPD Captain Vance Rice to Retire After 25 Years of Service
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Captain Vance Rice, head of police services for the University of Arkansas Police Department will retire this month after 25 years with the department. During his tenure with UAPD he worked as a patrol officer, patrol sergeant, lieutenant for training and career development, criminal investigations lieutenant, and his current position.
He holds two University of Arkansas degrees, a bachelor’s in human resource development and a master’s in operations management.
Rice will continue his law enforcement career beginning in July as the Chief of Police at Mississippi State University.
The campus community is invited to a retirement celebration honoring Captain Rice on from 2-4 p.m. Monday, June 30 in the Administrative Services Building, Room 240.
