Elanco's de Simas to Discuss 'A Food Secure Tomorrow' at Bumpers College Seminar
Jose Carreia de Simas of Elanco Animal Health is the guest speaker for the Bumpers College's Global Food Opportunities seminar on April 24.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Jose Carreia de Simas, who leads the product development team in the research and development area of Elanco Animal Health, is the guest speaker in the Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences Global Food Opportunities seminar series at the University of Arkansas.
De Simas will speak at 2 p.m. on April 24 in Hembree Auditorium, which is in the AFLS Building. The series is open to all U of A students, faculty and staff. De Simas' visit is co-hosted by the Bumpers College's department of animal science and the office of international programs, and the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences.
His presentation is titled, "Enough: The Fight for a Food Secure Tomorrow," and will be followed by a question and answer session. De Simas has held international positions with technical, sales and marketing, and research and development organizations.
Animal science students Kelsy Bryant and Jessie Hargis are also on the program. They will discuss the impact of international experiences in Scotland, and how they have prepared them professionally.
De Simas earned his master's and doctorate in animal nutrition and physiology from the University of Arizona with post-doctoral work at the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil.
