Lecture by Editor and Translator Daniel Simon
The U of A programs in creative writing and translation are proud to present a talk by literary translator and editor Daniel Simon at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, in Giffels Auditorium, Old Main.
Simon is assistant director and editor in chief of World Literature Today, the award-winning magazine of international literature and culture published by the University of Oklahoma, where he also teaches for the department of English. He earned his doctorate in comparative literature from Indiana University, Bloomington, with an emphasis in translation studies. He is also a poet and translator, with recent or forthcoming poems in The Adirondack Review, Prairie Schooner, Das Gedicht, Poetry International, and other journals; Abdellah Taïa, Boualem Sansal, Tahar Ben Jelloun, Christine Montalbetti, Assia Djebar, and Claude Michel Cluny are among the writers he has translated for World Literature Today.
