Associated Student Government hosts its second annual Health Week Feb. 4-6. Students will learn ways to eat healthy, participate in yoga, and understand how the Affordable Care Act will affect them.

This year’s events include:

  • During the Yumm, That’s Good: Food Tasting from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, on the Union Mall, vendors will distribute free samples of health foods to students and U of A community members.
  • In partnership with University Recreation, ASG hosts a Yoga session Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 8:00 p.m. on the Arkansas Union Theater stage.
  • Dr. Hershey Garner, state Rep. Charlie Collins and state Rep. Greg Leding are panelists for "The Affordable Care Act and What It Means for College Students," a panel discussion from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, in the Arkansas Union Verizon Ballroom.

Autumn Lewis, ASG chief of staff, noted, “This year’s Health Week events are designed to help the mind, body, and soul of Arkansas students. They are the perfect opportunity to re-energize New Year’s resolutions or get in a healthy frame of mind before the semester gets too busy.”

These events are free to current University of Arkansas students who pay the student activities fee. Students must show ID for entrance. Admission for general public and non-fee-paying students is free and contingent upon seating availability and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis after fee-paying students are admitted.

This event is sponsored by the Associated Student Government through the office of student activities. For questions about the event, please contact Associated Student Government at 479-575-5205.
