Cody Villar of IT Services Recognized for Certification

Cody Villar, IT Services security analyst, earned a globally recognized certification as a certified information systems security professional (CISSP) in September.

CISSPs are information assurance professionals who define the architecture, design, management and controls that ensure the security of business environments. CISSPs are awarded by the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium.

Villar began working for the University of Arkansas in February 2013. His career in IT security began in 2009, and he has held positions such as IT Security Project Manager and Director of IT Security for a computer research firm. With a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a master’s in information systems, Villar also holds certifications as a certified document imaging architect and for information technology infrastructure library foundation.
