Students Invited to Attend Rome Study Abroad Information Session

Students, particularly rising sophomores, have a remarkable opportunity to study in Italy this summer and earn core credits, including Principles of Macroeconomics and Principles of Microeconomics at the U of A Rome Center. Students are invited to learn more about this program in an information session from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec 10, in WCOB 343. Join us for pizza and learn about the itinerary, courses, lodging, and application. Faculty and staff members from study abroad and Walton College will be there to answer questions.

Nestled in the heart of Rome, the University of Arkansas' Rome Center is the perfect study abroad opportunity. Anchoring this study abroad program is its rich curriculum. Established in 1989, the U of A Rome Center has been a haven for arts and architecture study, but last summer the university expanded the curriculum to feature a variety of U of A core courses. With recent business core course additions, this program offers opportunities to Walton College students, as well as students across the campus who seek economics credits in their majors. Students in the economics courses will study with David Gay, professor of economics. Gay understands the special nature of learning through study abroad programs and has received five competitive fellowships from the International Center for Economic Research (ICER) in Turin, Italy.  He has taught in Italy, Germany (Munich and Giessen), and Russia (Higher School of Economics, Moscow).
