FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – U of A Razorback Transit has developed a new schedule for its Tan Route that will be go into effect on Monday, Dec. 2. The new schedule is based on input from student riders and a thorough evaluation of the route. The goal of the new schedule is to improve the on-time performance of the route, while navigating the traffic and congestion that is experienced on Wedington Drive.

The new schedule adds a second bus to the Tan Route in the afternoon and allows more time for the buses to complete the route. From Monday to Friday, full-service buses will run every 18 minutes from 7-11 a.m.; every 34 minutes from 11 a.m. - 2:20 p.m., and every 18 minutes from 2:20 - 6 p.m.

Evening, Saturday, and reduced-service schedules are not affected by the change. The new Tan Route schedule is currently available on the Transit and Parking website.

Razorback Transit will monitor the performance of the new schedule during December to evaluate whether any additional adjustments are required for the spring semester.

The Razorback Transit service standard for on time performance is defined as, “A vehicle will be considered on time if it departs Union Station or its primary scheduled time point no more than 1 minute early or 5 minutes past the published schedule or time table.”

Razorback Transit would like to hold the secondary time points along a route to the same standard; however, uncontrollable factors, such as traffic and congestion, make this extremely difficult and occasional delays may occur. Because of this, secondary time points along routes are considered estimated arrivals. Razorback Transit recommends that passengers arrive at secondary stops at least 5 minutes prior to the estimated time. If passengers routinely experience arrival times of more than 5 minutes past the estimated time please notify Razorback Transit so that the service can be evaluated.
